A Trinity Mark is a type of colored symbol that can be activated ('unsealed') with the Trinity command in Kingdom Hearts and its Final Mix version. The marks look like a series of three tiny hearts connected by a circle. Trinity Marks, when activated, can cause items to drop, treasure chests to appear, or the party to interact with objects to unlock new areas or passages. The Trinity command is at first unavailable, as it requires a full party of Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Only after defeating Guard Armor and approaching any Trinity Mark do you gain access to the first Trinity Move; Trinity Jump. Later on you gain new Trinity Marks after defeating story-specific bosses. They are sometimes also mandatory to progress the story itself.
Trinity Marks are viewable in Jiminy's Journal under Trinity List, which lists the number of total Trinities, only noting how many have been found. Finding and activating all of them is not required to complete the game, nor to unlock the secret ending.
Completing all Trinity Marks also grants you the bronze trophy and achievement Best Friend in the 1.5 ReMIX version.
Trinity Moves[]
Trinity Jump[]
Trinity Jump is the first Trinity Move received upon approaching any Trinity Mark after the defeat of Guard Armor, typically either at the save point in the Accessory Shop or by approaching the world exit. Trinity Jump only works on blue Trinities and, when activated, causes the party to surround the mark and jump. This typically causes minor items or chests to fall down from above, and in one instance, transports the party to an area above them.
Trinity Charge[]
Trinity Charge is the second Move and acquired after sealing the Keyhole at Deep Jungle. It interacts with Red Trinities and when used causes the party to charge at a wall or object, either breaking through in case of the former, or shaking something loose in case of the latter. Trinity Charge is specifically required to progress the game twice, first in Traverse Town and later again in Hollow Bastion.
Trinity Ladder[]
The third Trinity Move, Trinity Ladder, interacts with green Trinity Marks and is gained after completing Agrabah. As the name indicates, the party will climb on-top of each other to form a ladder and reach something above them. This either causes the party to gain access to a chest or other object, and in two instances also lowers a ladders, such as in a Cabin in Neverland to progress through the level. The other ladder is in Traverse Town's Accessory Shop, as mentioned by Goofy at the time, and grants access to the Item Workshop.
Trinity Push[]
The fourth Trinity Move, Trinity Push, is entirely optional and only acquired after completing the Phil Cup, Pegasus Cup, and Hercules Cup in the Olympus Coliseum. It only works with yellow Trinities, and is also the rarest, with only four in the entire game. As the name indicates it causes the party to push an object, such as the massive block in the Coliseum's lobby (which reveals a Keyhole). It is generally akin to the Trinity Charge ability, wherein you gain access to a minor new area afterwards.
Trinity Detect[]
The fifth and final Trinity Move that the party learns is Trinity Detect; which only works on white Trinities. The party raises and holds their weapons together, summoning a treasure chest. It is learned after defeating Riku for the first time in Hollow Bastion and grants the most useful and best rewards, such as the Lady Luck Keyblade and the Violetta staff for Donald.
Locations[]
Note that Final Mix changed or swapped the contents of several chests, those from Trinity Marks included.
