This is the second visit walkthrough for The Land of Dragons as featured in Kingdom Hearts II, as well as its Final Mix version. Upon landing at the Village, Donald spotted a man in a black coat that ran away from them. About to give chase, Mulan arrived, who also had been following the mysterious man.

Completing the world for a second time also grants you the bronze trophy and achievement Above Honor in the 2.5 ReMIX version.

Walkthrough[]

After the initial cutscene you can swap Mulan into your party if you want, note that she does not block usage of Master Form, but since your standard party members will no longer be outmatched in terms of abilities, and already have all of your (second-best) items equipped, Mulan is essentially obsolete.

Follow the man in black up the mountain, dealing with a few Dusks at the Ridge, and on to the Summit, for another cutscene where the man appears alongside a swarm of Rapid Thrusters. The man, actually Riku as revealed by the usage of his Soul Eater, and Thrusters will ignore one another, although you can use the weak Heartless to your advantage by hitting both targets with the Speed Trap reaction.

Riku has a melee combo attack, a dash attack, a frontal shockwave attack, and a combo wherein he creates a damaging aura himself that is followed by a burst of Dark Firaga. Although he cannot be staggered by Sora, he is not very aggressive and his attacks are not particularly strong. The fight automatically ends when he is down to almost a single health bar. If available, Limit Form from Final Mix can finish the fight far quicker than without.

Return to the Village, and from there to the Mountain Trail, where you will encounter Neoshadows, alongside Nightwalkers, Emerald Blues, and Assault Riders. The Neoshadows are akin to more advanced Shadows, although they do not have a lot of staying power. You will also encounter Air Pirates at the Checkpoint, although none of these Heartless should prove any threat at this point. The ambush of three Assault Riders and four Bolt Towers at the Imperial Square might, however, so resort to a Drive Form if needed.

Enter the Palace, where you will encounter Xigbar, whom promptly flees while getting his Nobodies to attack you. The first wave consists of four Snipers and one Dusk, which are followed by another wave of six Snipers. Snipers are Heartless that stand in mid-air and teleport around, while using their crossbow to fire laserbolts that will pause in mid-air before impact. This pause is what allows you to counter with Warp Snipe, which deflects the attack back to the Sniper. Make sure to use Warp Snipe to pre-empt the Snipers' attacks, while relying on Magnet to counteract their teleportations as they are severely limited by the small space of the Antechamber.

You will meet the The Emperor after the fight, alongside Li Shang. Make sure to plunder the Emperor's Throne Room, as there are a total of eight treasure chests with various items, including another set of Torn Pages, and the Guard and Queen Recipes. Head back outside to meet the last boss of The Land of Dragons; Storm Rider.

Storm Rider bossfight[]

The Land of Dragons gameplay 4

The Storm Rider bossfight.

You will begin the fight on-top of Storm Rider's back, and straightaway will have to use the Hang On command to avoid being thrown off. If you mnaged to do so on time you can hit the spikes on its wings, which will force it to crash and be temporarily stunned, which then allows you safely attack its horns; the only weakpoints. You can also attack the horns while it is airborne, but it is too easy to be thrown off. On the ground you can use Ride the Wind and Soar on the whirlwinds to attempt to get up on its back again. Do not attempt to use Thunder on it either, as it is immune to the element.

At first the Storm Rider will attack by discharging lightning from its horns and spikes, and if you are on the ground, fly from one corner to another while carpet bombing the terrain. It can also go into a dive and sweep the floor with its size, which you can avoid and counter with the Slide and Vertigo Toss reactions, respectively. Doing so will also ground and stun it temporarily.

After enough damage has been dealt it will land on the bridge and erect two lightning walls, which will decrease the amount of space you have to move around. It will then start to charge a very powerful thunder beam attack, which can be largely avoided by sticking close to one of its wings. Watch out for the lightning discharges from between the walls as it charges the beam for a second time. It will go back into the air afterwards and repeat its normal attack pattern, likely repeating the thunder beam attack again when it is closer to death.

Defeating it grants Sora his second Thunder Element and thus the Thundara spell, whereas Goofy gains a new Limit; Tornado Fusion. The next locations are either Beast's Castle (walkthrough) or Port Royal (walkthrough), as well as the fourth episode of 100 Acre Wood (walkthrough).
