STILL ALIVE!!! According to my sources, at Jump Festa 2011, Axel, Terra-Xehanort, and Vanitas make an appearance. Also, Terra-Xehanort appears wearing a black Organization coat! Also, it is set to be sold in Japan in March of 2012, though the exact date is unknown

Vanitas inside Xehanort

The trailer for dream drop distance reveals one of it's most intriguing images to date. A young Xehanort faces off against Sora in Notre Dam, he asks "Arn't there hearts confined within you too?" and Vanitas appears next to xehanort and both xehanort and vanitas ask "hearts other than your own?". What could this mean? Has Vanitas survived and latched onto xehanorts heart, like Ventus has with Sora? Is Vanitas in control of this body or xehanort? Is this an attempt by Vanitas to unite with Ventus again? Where is Terra in all this? What role dose Xehanort play, is he merely a host to Vanitas? Is this all..... a dream?

Master Xehanort is not trying to make Ventus form the X-Blade. It is questionable whether or not a heartless would even work as the "heart of pure darkness," but suppose it could. Then that would make Ventus the "heart of pure light." So why does Xehanort want him to use the power of darkness? That would be less-than-pure-light. In fact, he makes his motive clear in one of his reports--at first, he was trying to make Ventus his vessel, but when Ventus refused to use the darkness, THEN he decided to use him to forge the X-Blade. The reason he had Ventus fight those Heartless is the same reason he had Terra fight all of the opponents that he did--to awaken his dark powers so that he could be a suitable vessel. 11:54, March 16, 2012 (UTC)

I think that I have discovered something about Vanitas and Xehanort.

Vanitas splits from Master Xehanort prior to attacking Ventus, Aqua and Terra at the Keyblade Graveyard.

Vanitas splits from Young Xehanort and speaks the exact same words as him during their confrontion with Sora in the Cathedral. YX as the Mysterious Figure in BBS he can also use Vanitas’ X shaped attack.

Dark Mode Riku looks incredibly similar too Vanitas’ bodysuit.

Vanitas may be able to fuse with the Xehanorts and sort of share a consciousness with them and also share his abilities with them and possibly share control of their body with them, this would explain why he splits from MX and YX, and also why there are certain elements of him in the Xehanorts, such as YX’s X shaped attack that Vanitas uses and also Dark Mode Riku’s bodysuit.DrNefarious 12:45, April 13, 2012 (UTC)

  • That actually makes sense! We should mention that somewhere on the page. 08:53, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

That makes no sense. Vanitas simply steps out from behind Xehanort. He only "splits from" Xehanort in the Secret Ending of KH2, which was a concept trailer. Evnyofdeath 18:05, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

The thirteenth vessel

Do you think it's possible Vanitas may gain a body and become the thertieth vessel of xehanorrt now he has failed to capture Sora, it would not put it past xehanorrt being capible of revieing his defeated puppet for one more fight. Also there is the queestion why would xehanorrt keep Vanitases soul if he was not intent in using it?

Thirteenth Vessel Theory

Yes, I think Vanitas' heart will be a key element in creating the last Darkness. I don't think Sora's out of the clear as a target, yet, but the fact that he has so many hearts protecting his own is a powerful deterrent. Still doesn't mean Xehanort won't try again, but there is another option.

Ven's body in Castle Oblivion. It's currently just a shell. Aqua's the only one who knows the location of it, though, so I'm guessing that they'll have to rescue her from the dark shore and she will have to take Sora with her to CO in order to restore Ven's heart (which is inside Sora). But there's nothing stopping them from being followed there... and if all Vanitas' heart needs is a body, well. He's already possessed that one once, before, so what's stopping him from doing it again?

Or simply Vanitas will regain his body when ventus is restored as they are one in the same being, but 2 sides of the same coin. Gotenks ss70 18:44, January 20, 2013 (UTC)

Well Sora is connected to Ven, so whatever happens to Sora happens to Ven. So Vanitas' return might be a side effect from the overwealming darkness near the end of Dream Drop Distance. Vanitas is made from the darkness in Ven's heart, if your wondering why I suggested that. Matteso586 (talk) 19:11, January 20, 2013 (UTC)
