Sonic Blade

Template:Game Template:Images Sonic Blade (ソニックレイヴ, Sonikku Reivu^?, lit. "Sonic Rave") is one of Sora's special abilities in the Kingdom Hearts series.

Sonic Blade is learned after Sora defeats Cerberus first the first time and comforts Cloud, who then grants Sora this ability out of gratitude. Despite being listed as one of Sora's special abilities, Cloud is also capable of executing a stronger version of Sonic Blade.

Description: A fast forward lunge where Sora runs past and damages enemy in range. This is also a magic based attack.
Effect: When close to an enemy, Sonic Blade will appear in the last command box (only if it has been equipped, of course), and by selecting it, Sora will perform a fast forward thrust towards the targeted enemy. After the first strike, the last command box will turn into Rave; pressing it will allow Sora to execute another faster thrust. Rave will appear five times provided that the combo manages to connect. Once five Raves are executed, Blast will replace the last command box and, when selected, causes the screen to darken while Sora executes a powerful dashing thrust, damaging all foes in his path and ending the combo.

In order for Sora to learn the Sonic Blade ability, he must be at least level 22. Sonic Blade Sleight Value: 20-23 Requirements: Three different type of attack cards Ability: Rockets across, striking down any enemies in the way for up to seven attacks. Press A when it flashes on-screen, to add an attack. Pressing the A button when it isn't on-screen will cancel the sleight. If any part of Sonic Blade happens to miss, the sleight will be canceled.

Kingdom Hearts II

Several other abilities in Kingdom Hearts II have similar effects, such as Over the Horizon and Sonic End.

In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Sonic Blade is one of four abilities that makes a comeback in Sora's Limit Form, and the commands Rave and Blast are replaced by reaction commands (which require the player to tap Template:Button continuously). Just as in Re: Chain of Memories, Sora can land a maximum of seven successful pierces.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Although Sonic Blade is unperformable by any playable character, Xion in her First Form can perform Sonic Blade and will only stop when either any part of it misses or gets blocked.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Sonic Blade appears again as a mid level Deck Command for all three characters, except it has been called Sonic Rave. It functions exactly as it does in the previous games. In addition, Terra has a variation called Chaos Rave where he unleashes a Sonic Rave while empowered by Darkness.

Trivia

• Like some of Sephiroth's attacks in Kingdom Hearts, the Sonic Blade attack makes an appearance in Dissidia Final Fantasy as one of Cloud's Brave attacks.
