Kingdom Hearts Wiki

The Reaper is a high-ranking Nobody controlled by Marluxia that is found in Kingdom Hearts III.

Design[]

Reapers appear in two different forms; an idle form and an offensive form.

When idle, or when taking a defensive stance, Reapers appear as a large, silvery-white flower bud. They have long, pointed petals shaped similar to the spikes of the Nobody emblem, which flow naturally into a short, twisted stem that splays out into roots with the same spiked shape.

When offensive, the petals of the bud open, revealing a humanoid head and torso, wearing a jacket with oversized pointed shoulders and a long pointed hood of faded pink. It also wears wide, elbow-length gloves that fade from pink to white. In battle, it wields a scythe similar to Marluxia's, with a large, pink blade with an upturned tip and multiple spikes resembling the Nobody emblem sprouting from the back of the blade and at the bottom of the handle.

The Reaper is based on the Grim Reaper that appears in the Final Fantasy spells, Death and Doom. While it did not exist at the creation of the Reaper Nobody, “Reaper” is now a playable class in Final Fantasy XIV, retroactively matching the naming pattern of other advanced Nobodies.

Strategy[]

When fighting the Reapers, make frequent use of Fire magic (their weakness) to do decent damage to them from a safe distance. This can be used to interrupt them while they are warping, scattering petal fragments, or when they're about to use their thorny whip attack. If they begin warping around frequently, they may be close to using their revenge attack. Upon reaching their revenge value the Reaper warps away and counterattacks by spinning around sideways while moving in an unpredictable manner or scattering petal fragments. Avoid using magic or dodging when the Reaper uses its Leaf Slash attack as their erratic movements can cause Sora to mistime a block and potentially get combo'd for heavy damage.
