The Pain and Panic Cup consists of ten rounds, with a battle level of 20, or 25 in the Final Mix version, and 60 in the Paradox Cup for either. It features the same enemies as fought in The Land of Dragons, Beast's Castle, Olympus Coliseum, Disney Castle, and Timeless River. The various rounds feature enemy configurations that are tougher than normal, and often not at all encountered during normal fights. The Cup also restricts use of the Drive Gauge, but severely reduces the MP cost of Limits to 25. The Cup also features an additional goal in the form of points that are gained by defeating enemies.

Enemies encountered are Shadows, Hook Bats, Large Body, Minute Bombs, Soldiers, Rabid Dogs, Rapid Thrusters, Hot Rods, Lance Soldiers, Bolt Towers, Assault Riders, Gargoyle Knights and Warriors, Creeper Plants, and Aeroplanes. The 8th round is a horde fight, akin to the Summit battle against the Rapid Thrusters in The Land of Dragons. Due to the nature of the Cup it is recommended to use Trinity Limit.

Leon and Yuffie bossfight[]

Pain and Panic Cup gameplay

The Leon and Yuffie bossfight.

Leon and Yuffie are featured as the final bosses of the Cup. Yuffie will either use melee attacks or form a giant shuriken to slash her surroundings with. She is not particularly dangerous, but her mobility and teleports make her hard to pin down. Leon is much slower in comparison, only performing melee attacks with his sword or shooting fireballs from afar. Neither are particularly tough, although they can be difficult together. Use Limits to stagger and overwhelm them without risk of taking damage.

The reward in both versions is a Serenity Stone, as well as a Lucky Ring in the original version, and a Protect Belt in the Final Mix version. Completing the Paradox version grants no reward. Jiminy's Journal has two separate score requirements: 2,000 for the normal Cup, and 2,500 for the Paradox version.
