It is Saïx's basic weapon, and therefore requires no Gear to be attached to him in order to wield it. In appearance, New Moon is almost entirely gray, symbolizing that it is the most basic of all of Saïx's weapons through the use of achromatic colors. New Moon's combo finisher is Saïx jumping higher than usual and coming down in an aerial strike with New Moon.

Etymology
A "new moon" is a lunar phase where the moon is hardly visible in the sky due to no sunlight reflecting of the side that faces the Earth.
