Munny as it appears in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.

Munny is the currency used throughout the Kingdom Hearts universe. It is used for all purchases in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II, but is replaced with Moogle Points in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Heart Points in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days does include Munny, but it is used only as a synthesis ingredient. Its name is an intentional misspelling of "Money", much like how "Honey" is frequently spelled "Hunny" in the games. Munny Orbs come in three sizes, each worth varying amounts of Munny. Small orbs are worth 1 Munny, medium are worth 5, and large are worth 20.

Munny is never dropped by bosses, but is dropped by all minor Heartless in Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Although Nobodies do not drop Munny after being defeated in Kingdom Hearts II, they do in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Trinity Marks in Kingdom Hearts often contain troves of Munny, and Gambler Nobodies can relinquish a jackpot of Munny if defeated at their own game. The final method to obtain Munny is to sell off unused items to the various shops.

Sora can also drop a lot of his Munny by slipping on a Bouncywild's banana peel, although he can pick it back up if he hurries. It is also possible for Heartless to slip on these peels and drop their own Munny.

The munny pouch in Kingdom Hearts II

Roxas and his friends in the Simulated Twilight Town spend a day earning Munny for a trip to the beach by doing odd jobs. However, once they go to buy the tickets, Riku bumps into Roxas and snatches the Munny Pouch, since the beach had not been programmed into the simulation.

This munny pouch filled with Roxas's hard-earned munny is later given to Sora, although the pouch is treated as a Key Item, and therefore the Munny within the Munny Pouch cannot be spent, or otherwise used for any purpose.
