The blade, hand guard, and tip are similar to Greek Ionic architecture. The teeth seem to take the form of a star, possibly referring to the fact that at the end of the storyline of the first game in Olympus Coliseum, there is a faint silhouette of Hercules in the stars, or Sora, Donald, and Goofy's silhouette in the second game.
The token—connected by three sea-green links—is the symbol of the Gods of Olympus and is also the Olympus Stone Sora borrowed from Hercules to protect him from the magic of the Underworld.
The Keyblade's name probably derives from the end of the movie Hercules where Hercules is immortalized as a hero through a constellation of himself which can be considered as a crest. It could also be derived from the end of the second visit in Olympus Coliseum where Sora, Donald, and Goofy are immortalized as heroes through constellations of themselves.
The Hero's Crest is a strong Keyblade that gives a strength boost of +4. It is especially useful for battles that mostly take place in the air, as the more the Keyblade is used in the air, the more damage is inflicted on the foe - due to the Hero's Crest innate ability, Air Combo Boost.
