This is the walkthrough for Halloween Town as it is featured in Kingdom Hearts, as well as its Final Mix version. Sora and his friends visit another world on their quest, and run into a group of non-hostile Heartless, shortly before they meet the local inhabitants of the town who are preparing for the next Halloween festival.
Completing the world by sealing the Keyhole also grants you the bronze trophy and achievement Pumpkin Prince in the 1.5 ReMIX version.
Walkthrough[]
Head forwards into Guillotine Square, where you will immediately encounter non-hostile Search Ghosts. Ignore them and head to the right for a cutscene, introducing Jack Skellington. Enter the Lab Entryway behind the guillotine, followed by the Research Lab, to meet Dr. Finkelstein and be able to add Jack to your party. He is an offensive spell caster, using his own versions of Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, and Gravity. His stats are somewhat higher than both Donald and Goofy so he is a viable substitute for either. Examine the bookcase in the lab for another Torn Page.
Return to the square where you can now fight the Heartless, then head for the Graveyard entrance. Wight Knights will appear here, powerful Heartless that rely on jumps to attack you from above or behind, which can be difficult to evade, and can also use their long arms for wide, sweeping attacks. Talk to Sally, then head back to the lab for more cutscenes, followed by going back to the Graveyard. Enter the coffin to go to the Boneyard, then talk to the Mayor. Per his instructions, examine the tombstones in the right order, then take the Jack-in-the-Box item from the newly revealed treasure chest.
Return to the lab and talk to the Doctor, then return to the Square to run into Gargoyles. These flying Heartless have several strong melee attacks, using their aerial mobility to close the distance on you. They can also spit homing orbs and turn into an invulnerable wisp of energy, keeping close to you until they reform to attack. Return to the Graveyard, re-enter the Boneyard, then use the crypt door behind the destroyed pumpkin to enter Moonlight Hill. Here you can light a lantern platform to have an easier shortcut between the Hill and Graveyard areas.
Defeat the Heartless in the area, then examine the tiny gravestones in the center to cause the hilltop to extend, allowing you entry to the Bridge, and Oogie's Manor after that. If you fall down from the manor you can examine the walking bathtub to return to the top. You can also find a red Trinity Mark here that was moved in the Final Mix version, due to it being missable in the original. Enter the door at the end of the path after the rope bridge, then use Fire on the platform here to cause it to move. Proceed to climb the entire manor from here, entering the door at the very top for a bossfight.
Lock, Shock, and Barrel bossfight[]
Lock (devil), Shock (witch), and Barrel (skeleton) are individually quite weak, but their size and speed can make them hard to hit. Focus on defeating them in the same order as listed to gain the most experience points, as whoever is not defeated last will only grant a tenth of their actual EXP (Barrel has the most). Lock and Shock also drop HP and MP orbs, respectively. Lock mostly will be jumping all over the place, Shock often spins in the center of the room, and Barrel will be dashing around. You can save after you defeat them, then go and hit the lever in the room to open the door to Oogie Boogie's Torture Chamber. Said door is easily visible due to its stark green color, but is somewhat hidden at the lower end of the manor, near the end of the rope bridge. Enter it for the next bossfight.
Oogie Boogie bossfight[]

The Oogie Boogie bossfight.
Oogie Boogie is weak to physical attacks, and resistant to magic, but due to the nature of the arena he will stay out of reach most of the time. His main actions will be to throw glowing explosive, and normal non-explosive, dice. The random number the latter three dice land on (each dice lands on the same number) will then result in a negative effect. You can deflect them for Tech Points, and if you manage to hit them all you skip the following roulette effect entirely.
If he throws ones a circular saw will move around the roulette wheel, and if it's fours a set of scythes will start spinning around. Twos, three, and fives summon two Heartless each, of respectively the Gargoyle, Wight Knight, and Search Ghost varieties. The scythes will also appear when he is at low health, moving up and down while also rotating. He normally does not throw three sixes, but at low health he can forcefully change any other result into them, which allows him to use a machine to regain health.
After each normal dice throw and the resulting effects he will begin running around the upper walkway, and the buttons near the central pillar will glow up. Pressing a button will lock anyone on that button's section inside, including on the upper walkway. Thus your goal is to trap both you and Oogie in the same section, as the lower area will rise up, allowing you confront him directly. He only has a weak slap attack and can be easily pummeled until he knocks you back down. If you miss Oogie you will eventually be forced to take some damage by the toy soldiers on the lower end.
Other than physical attacks you can jump and use Fira, or rely on Thundara if you wish, but he is otherwise not difficult to defeat. You receive a Holy Circlet and Ansem's Report 7 after you win. While leaving you will find Oogie has grown to a massive size, and merged with his own manor, immediately starting the next bossfight, although you can technically leave if you wish to save again.
Oogie's Manor bossfight[]

The Oogie's Manor bossfight.
The manor itself is too big to fight, but you can destroy the Shadow Globs attached to him. There are seven total, spread across the entire structure. They are mostly harmless, sometimes emitting a small fireball, but destroying three will result in an endless amount of Gargoyles being spawned near you. The manor itself can attack through a giant lantern that shoots multiple fireballs, which generally target the lower and middle frontal section. If destroyed the second lantern at the top will instead start to shoot fire, and Oogie's arm (previously holding up the first lantern) will also be free to swipe at anything below it. Oogie's face will also periodically disperse a large amount of poisonous spores in your direction if you stay around near the top.
Regardless the individual Globs pose little threat and the real challenge comes from climbing the structure all the way to the top. After its destruction you will automatically seal the Keyhole, and receive Gravira, as well as the Pumpkinhead Keyblade from Jack. Pumpkinhead will have a lot of range, and be your strongest Keyblade yet, although it lacks the extra MP gained from the Crabclaw. Lastly if you have not yet, you can find a Power Up in a structure inside the Square area, and a Defense Up in the Bridge area. Any chests you missed in Oogie's Manor also can be found in a tiny hidden basement in the center of the remaining space.
Next you can head to either Neverland (walkthrough), or Atlantica (walkthrough) if you have not yet. Before you go to either, consider heading back to 100 Acre Wood to finish what is possibly your last Torn Page.
