Gula is a Keyblade Master who appears in Kingdom Hearts χ. He is a Foreteller and the leader of the Leopardos Union. He is also an apprentice of the Master of Masters.
Personality[]
As the leader of the Leopardos union, he is a lone wolf that is reluctant to invest in companionship, however, that is just one side of his personality. Nonetheless, he seems to be close to Ava.
Amongst the Foretellers Gula appears to be the most "clever" of the group, able to correctly deduce reason why the Master of Masters gave the Foretellers different roles as it relates to his role. However Gula's role of finding the traitor is ultimately pointless, as Luxu was the traitor who was not a Foreteller. Gula's investigations only lead to more discontent, with him allying with Aced and later breaking up with him to gauge his reaction and not intervening in a fight between Aced and Invi until the last moment.
Physical Appearance[]
He has the appearance of a young adolescent boy. His signature animal emblem for his union is a leopard and his robe's color scheme is yellow dark grey, and sky blue.
History[]
Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover[]
In the Master's study, the Master of Masters gives Gula the lost page, in which describes a traitor among the apprentices. The Master assigns Gula the role of find this traitor and Gula correct infers that the different roles the Master gave to the other Foretellers, would result in only the traitor deviating from thier role. The Master jokingly admonishes Gula for stealing his "thunder" but seriously warns Gula to trust no one but himself.
In another meeting in the Master's study, the Master of Masters unveils his creation; a Chirithy. He explains that Chirithys would be paired and help thier keyblade wielders in thier tasks. The Master of Masters also reveals that is a wielder has fallen to darkness, thier Chirithy would turn dark and become a nightmare. This nightmare would plant darkness into the hearts of others and if unrestricted would create an army of nightmares. When Aced recommends destroying any nightmares they encountered, Gula comments that kind of thinking is why Aced's symbol is the bear due to him being scary.
Gula was there with the other Foretellers when Ira informed them that there was a traitor among them, he already knew this though because he was told in advance by the Master of Masters. He played along and acted as if he was surprised of the situation. He pointed out how the traitor's plan was brilliant because it would be difficult to find out who it was due to the countless numbers of keyblade wielders in their unions. When the meeting came to an end after Aced left angrily due to Ira's accusation that one of the Foretellers might be the traitor, Gula was the second to leave.
Aced then called him, Ava and Invi to form an alliance between their unions to stop the impending darkness. Gula was on board with the idea, he and Aced then went in search for clues regarding the traitor.
When Gula realizes that they were getting nowhere with Aced's plan and thanks to the persuasion of Invi, he quits his alliance with Aced, leaving the other Foreteller in anger.
Gula then spied on Aced and Invi when they were fighting, he even smirked when Invi claimed that Aced was the traitor and only went to help her stop Aced when he thought he was going to be found out by Ava. After the fight, Gula searched for Aced believing him to be the traitor and intending to stop him. Gula informed Aced of his role and that he used the lost page to determine that Aced was the traitor. Gula then summoned his keyblade to "stop" him. Aced, angered by the fact that Gula hid the fact that he knew there was a traitor among them, summons his keyblade and fought with Gula. Gula however was defeated and Aced looked to finish him off but was stopped by Ava.
Ava then moved the wounded Gula to a new location to hide him from the others. Ira confronted Ava and demanded she turned him over, Ava refused and after Ira backed off, went back to check on Gula. Gula then informs Ava his role and about the lost page. He describes the traitor in the lost page as "the one who bears the sigil" and admits everything in the page is ambiguous as best. Gula thus concludes that he can't find the traitor using only the lost page and resolves to ask the Master of Masters. When Ava points out the Master's disappearance, Gula resolves to summon Kingdom Hearts, where he reasons that this would force the Master to return. Gula begs Ava for her help in gathering the Lux needed to open Kingdom Hearts but she declines and refused to help him. Gula then decided he will do it alone.
Kingdom Hearts χ[]
If the Player joins Union Leopardos, they meet with Gula shortly after arriving in Daybreak Town. He explains that the player's keyblade allows them to take on lesser Heartless but stronger foes must be conquered using groups of Keyblade wielders. After a battle with a Darkside Heartless, Gula warns all present that some wielders were corrupted by darkness and they must find these traitors. He then summons a portal and leaves the wielders.
An outline of Gula is seen when the Player's Chirithy explains the Foretellers to the Players. Chirithy explains that the Foretellers were given thier names and the Book of Prophecies by the Master of Masters. Even through they each walk different paths, they all wish to prevent the events described in the last page of the book; That on a fated land a great war will transpire, darkness would prevail while light expires.
If the Player joins Union Leopardos, Gula talks to a Chirthy about the Keyblade wielder's high collection rate of Lux. He observes that the darkness also continues to expand despite the wielders efforts. Chirthy asks that if a traitor exists amongst the Foretellers, to which Gula says that he doesn't believe that yet.
If the Player is a part of Union Leopardos Ava disguised as Gula , interrupts the Player and Skuld as they look through the Master's study. "Gula" chastises Chirithy for letting the wielders enter a restricted area and walks past the Player and Skuld. He recounts that another Keyblade wielder also broke through the Clocktower earlier in the week. Gula tells the group that Ephemer was only using them for information and that he killed him. Wishing to avenge Ephemer, the Player challenges Gula to a fight, accepting that this could mean that they had darkness in thier heart.
The Player and Skuld track down Gula in a deserted building in Daybreak Town, looking for the location of Master Ava. He correctly deduces that the pair are Dandelions but tells the pair that Ava herself can't prevent the Keyblade War. When Skuld protests that people need to be warned about the upcoming conflict, Gula remarks that her spirit is why Ava chose her to be a Dandelion. However he observes that doing the right thing can't save the world, only the Master of Masters could. Gula explains that the Master of Masters disappeared one day and while Ava and him searched, they could not find a trace. With their options limited and time running out, Gula tells the Player and Skuld that Ava is currently searching for Luxu, the sixth of the Master's apprentices, who vanished alongside the Master.
Gula then quotes a passage directly from the lost page of the Book of Prophecies; "Imbalance observed, strength misplaced, a future filled with sorrow, Words of truth misunderstood as they explore the secret of tomorrow." He claims that the passage describes the traitor, how they would be the cause of Keyblade War and asks the pair on who the passage could point towards.
Gula then quotes another passage, "With a single strike, toll the bells and herald the end, bring war upon us, as fate did intend." Gula admits that he's not allowed to tell anyone of the passages but tells the Player and Skuld that the knowledge of the future would not prevent it. At that moment the Clocktower rang its bell, caused by the shockwaves between a battle with Ava and Luxu. Gula tells the pair that they should head back because their union leader would soon call for a meeting.
During the Keyblade War if the Player is not a part of Union Leopardos, Gula meets the player on the battlefield. He comments that the Player doesn't look so good, having fought up to two Foreteller by this point. After the Player nods in determination, Gula readies his Keyblade commenting that since they are on a battlefield they should fight.
After the fight, Gula exclaims how much more tougher the Player has become. Gula tells them that he's not in the mood for a fight, says that he'll see the player around later, and then jumps off.
Kingdom Hearts III[]
Foreteller Gula appears, having been summoned from the past by Luxu and questions why Ava hasn't appeared.
Abilities[]
Being one of the Foretellers, Gula is an extremely strong Keyblade wielder, he seems to be stronger than Ava but weaker than Invi, Aced and Ira. Seeing as he was beaten by a heavily wounded Aced, whereas Invi managed to hold her own against him, and Ira and Aced are on equal strength seen as when Aced saw Ira waiting for him, he knew he didn't stand a chance as he is already wounded.
He is also able to conjure duplicates of himself to attack his opponent simultaneously.
