This is the first visit walkthrough for Agrabah as featured in Kingdom Hearts II, as well as its Final Mix version. Sora and his friends ran into Iago, who felt bad about his past actions and wanted to make up for it, before warning them about an imminent attack by the Heartless.

Walkthrough[]

You will have to fight an endless group of Luna Bandits and Shadows, up until you deal a 100 hits, 90 seconds pass, or you go below 30% HP. Luna Bandits have a handful of different quick melee attacks, although they lack the staying power to become a true threat with their arsenal. Defeat them, after which you can access a Moogle Shop. Exit the Peddler's Shop room and clear the Agrabah area of treasure chests, then head for the Palace for a series of cutscenes. Aladdin will join your party at this point, so swap him in if desired for either Donald or Goofy (based on which Drive Form you prefer to use or want to level).

Enemies will now spawn in central Agrabah, including Silver Rocks, which are relatively weak flying Heartless that are resistant to Magic (and immune to Thunder). Return to the Shop, then head for the southern Bazaar exits. The various stands here can be destroyed, and some will reveal enemies or chests. Fat Bandits will now also appear, which are similar to the Large Body, but with a fireball and flamethrower ranged attack. When below 60% HP they will solely use their charging shockwave attack, so either quickly finish them off with the Full Swing reaction, or use Magic from afar.

Exit through the gate to enter the Palace Wall area where you can find a Skill Ring in a large chest. Continue onwards to the Cave of Wonders' entrance, and then enter thhrough the tiger mouth after defeating the Silver Rocks outside. Inside you will encounter Fortunetellers, which are flying Heartless with ice-based ranged attacks that do not have a lot of HP, but can be annoying with their flight and ranged attacks. You will also run into Fiery Globes and Icy Cubes (later on), which are largely negligible, only relying on their numbers and elemental resistances.

Continue through the chamber until you reach the next room, where you must examine the floating jewel to trigger a trap. Your only goal here is to use the reactions 'Go, Abu!' and 'Jump!' to make Abu go forwards and jump over the oncoming walls of water. Your allies will focus on the floating ice crystals. Clearing the trap grants Donald the Donald Blizzard spell, while Sora gains Summon Boost (but only on the Final Mix version). Continue through to the Chasm of Challenges and examine the plaque to start your descent.

Chasm of Challenges[]

Your goal here is to kill all enemies within two minutes, with Sora and co falling down to the next floor after clearing all present enemies. Icy Cubes appear here, but otherwise there is nothing of note. Examine the second plaque, then enter the treasure chamber. After the cutscene you must fight a total of fifty Heartless in a small enclosed space, starting with a large number of Silver Rocks, followed by groups of Fiery Globes and Icy Cubes, and ending with a trio of Fat Bandits. Due to the small space you should use a Limit on the Bandits, and finish them off with magic. Goofy gains the Auto Healing ability upon victory.

Back in Agrabah, visit the Moogle Shop to see if you can synthesize anything new, then follow Pete and the Peddler to the Palace for a double bossfight.

Blizzard Lord and Volcanic Lord bossfight[]

Agrabah from KH2 gameplay 2

The Blizzard Lord and Volcanic Lord bossfight.

Neither of the Blizzard Lord and Volcanic Lord bosses are very strong. They both fly, have melee and homing ranged attacks, and possess the same opposing elemental vulnerabilities, immunities, and status attack. Said status attack involves either freezing a party member, or setting them on fire, which has to be countered with the opposing element.

They can also create damaging spots of fire or ice on the floor, although this can easily be stopped with the Firagun or Blizzagun (depending on the Lord) reaction. Both reaction commands will allow you to direct the Lord into the other, damaging and stunning both. When damaged enough both Lords will vanish, leaving only Fiery Globes or Icy Cubes, after which they eventually reform again. Since both Lords are easy to stagger it is recommended to keep attacking relentlessly, focusing on abilities that enhance your aerial damage output, as to avoid granting them any time or space to counter you.

Defeating both grants you the Explosion ability in the original, and Finishing Leap in Final Mix. You will also gain the Lamp Charm, with which you can summon Genie. Genie acts as an offensive attacker, and will mimic one of your Drive Forms. Clearing Agrabah will unlock Twilight Town (walkthrough), and also opens up the way to Pride Lands (walkthrough), past the Sunlight Storm gummi route. However, both are of a higher level than Halloween Town (walkthrough), which should be done first.
