Hikari es la versión original, en japonés de "Simple and Clean", que fue lanzado originalmente en el álbum de Utada Deep River. Fue utilizado en las versiones japonesas de Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories y Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. El nombre de Hikari (光) significa literalmente la luz en japonés, una fuerza universal en el univeso Kingdom Hearts.
PLANiTb ha hecho remixes de las canciones "Simple and Clean" y "Hikari". La versión PLANiTb es más rápida, más corta, y tiene más de una mezcla que en la canción original de Utada. Este remix se escucha durante el opening de Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep y Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded
Además, una versión orquestal de "Hikari" se puede escuchar en un video del menú de Kingdom Hearts, si el jugador deja pueto, alrededor de unos quince segundos, el menú de inicio. La versión orquestada también se ofrece al final de cada escenario de Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. La versión orquestal también aparece en el opening de Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
